Some stocks that really are getting my attention are Jones Soda, UnitedHealth, and Chicos. Jones Soda broke out to an all time high and is a maturing stock often overlooked by people investing in Hansens. UnitedHealth and Chicos are both making bounces off of moving averages and long-term trends. Even though the Dow was down 213 points, my position in Sulphco was actually up for the day. The stock had been on a huge tear all year, putting a nasty squeeze on shortsellers. It showed up in one of our Telechart stock screens, and I put it on my watchlist. I got 19 shares @ 32.03. (I would have bought more but I didn't have any cash, that's right, I'm 100% in). This position is 5.79% of my portfolio. Sirf produces semiconductors that are GPS enabled and used extensively in cell phones and GPS devices. What looked like a weak open turned into a frothy buying frenzy. My portfolio was up over 2% today thanks in great part to who else but Google and Apple. Unfortunately half of my holdings were down today. Liberty Global, a spin-off of Liberty Media has been weak since last year. It seems to go down everyday. I like the story but am feeling the pain on this stock. Tomorrow is the first trading day of the year.The consensus for this year? Beats me. Talking heads all over the internet and television give compelling arguments for the market to go up and others for the market to experience a downturn. So looks like we are going up or down.
